Hoofbeat is
the project of composer, Jane
Wells. Take five musicians and their instruments, commission new compositions
and arrangements, set up ... and play.
The music ranges
from the European conventions of Kurt Weill through jazz and world music
to the no-tech techno of John Baker's "Moroccan Roll". All the
commissions have been from composers either resident in or near to Norfolk.

We recently
spent a day with Tony Haynes, who leads wonderful band The Grand Union
Orchestra, and who has arranged a number of pieces from India, Macedonia,
Jamaica, South Africa, Turkey and Portugal for us. The last three items
